Lions 31 (17) vs Boland 10 (5)

Lions get five points in Wellington

Boland fail to keep Lions from scoring four tries

The Lions scored their fourth try after the hooter against Boland in Wellington on Saturday, winning the game 31-10 in mud bath conditions. It's actually shocking that Boland is allowed to neglect their playing surface in this way, and one can only hope that SARU steps in and sorts it out.

The Lions were leading 17-5 at the break and only needed to score two tries in the second half to earn the bonus point, but then time ran out and that fourth try looked like it would evade the Lions, only for Derick Minnie scoring it about a minute after the final hooter.

It must also be said that the official in charge of the hooter seemed to sound it early by about two minutes in both halves, effectively making it a 76 minute match instead of 80.

Jaco Pretorius played in his 50th match for the Lions and was rewarded with his 30th try for us.
