Leeus vs Blou Bulle

Lions need to work on the basics. Our passing was woeful. 

We were competitive in the scrums till we brought on our subs. Both Kruger and Fillies struggled. We should have destroyed the Bulls scrums when they only had 7 men. It is really bad when a 7 man scrum sends us backwards like the Bulls did. Fillies is a big strong man, and may have done well at age group level due to his size, but he is going to have to learn that technique, especially at no 3 is far more important than brute strength at this level. He will also have to improve his fitness.

Both Cronje and Reynolds had shockers. The less said about their performances the better.

In fact the whole team was not up to scratch.

As a spectacle it was a great game, in terms of pace and intensity, in spite of the ill discipline by both sides.

The ref had a decent game. One shocker, missing a blatant knock on  by the Bulls, but generally controlled the game very well. Would have liked to have seen the game flow a bit more.

Bulls weren't that much better than the Lions as evidenced by 2 yellow and 1 red card. They were hungrier and just did not want to lose the game more than we wanted to win.
