Ek is bly met die span en veral dat Vincent terug is en dat Herbst bietjie begin kans kry. Ek is net verbaas dat Burger Odendaal nie in die span is nie.

Stonehouse changes seven for Xerox Lions' visit

Phakisa Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse made seven changes to his matchday squad for their Carling Currie Cup fixture against the Xerox Lions in Nelspruit on Saturday, which will be live on SuperSport.

The Lowvelders' coach made three changes to the starting team and four on the bench as they look to create an upset in the closing rounds of the pool stages.

Two of the changes in the starting XV were amongst the backs, where Ali Mgijima replaces Wayne van der Bank at inside centre, and Ginter Smuts takes over from Chriswill September in a rotational switch at scrumhalf, which sees the latter being named among the replacements.

The only change in the forward pack was in the second row, where Darrien Landsberg replaces the injured Le Roux Roets.

On the bench, Eduan Swart (prop) – a former Vodacom Blue Bulls U21 player – is in line to make his debut for the Phakisa Pumas if he takes the field after being named in place of Wikus Groenewald.

The other changes see Francois Kleinhans (flank) come in for Ewart Potgieter and Alwayno Visagie (centre) taking over from Morne Joubert (wing) alongside September.

Ons gaan moet vinger uit ons hol trek en begin speel. Ons kan nie bekostig dat die game in n arm wrestle ontaard nie. Ons speel Woensdag teen die bulle, en sal van ons top spelers in die 2de helfte moet ruskans gee.

Die Pumas staan ook hulle man in die skrums en Lynstane so verhoed dat ons daar momentum kry.

Seker ons swakste wedstryd van die lockdown af. Ons sukkel met basics. Ons sukkel met ons lynstane, skrums, hantering en defence. Als wat ek tot en met hierdie wedstryd geglo het baie verbeter het en nou met hierdie wedstryd het ons weer erg agteruit gegaan.

Al wat my pla van die Pumas is dat hulle baie onkant staan op verdediging en die ref tel dit selde op,maar verder speel ons anyway baie swak.

Ons het maar 36% balbesit. Ons sal moet beter doen daar, en ook die balle wat ons wel kry beter oppas. Dis asof ons nie patience het op die aanval nie, en elke keer net daai 1 treetjie te ver wil hardloop met die bal. Die veld en die bal is nat. Ons sal takties baie beter moet speel.

KKan iemand asb vir my verduidelik hoekom die ref vir Simelane en Tiaan gekeer het om die maul te join daarso? Is daar n beperking met hoeveel spelers in n maul mag wees? Of was dit net vir veiligheid? Ekt al wedstyde gesien waar amper die hele span n maul al gejoin het.

Die lynstaan was nog nie oor nie. Die maul moet eers 5 tree beweeg voor die agterspelers mag join.
