The South African Rugby Union is a law abiding member of South African society and has no tolerance of acts of violence or racial abuse. We will co-operate with the authorities in any way necessary. Our Rugby World Cup squad will have no place for anyone who transgresses those principles. But we also trust our people to act responsibly and tell the truth. We have spoken to Eben and he categorically denies any physical or racial abuse on his part as has been alleged in social media. He is a member of the Springbok squad and will remain so unless police authorities require our reconsideration. |

Ek glo so storie het altyd drie kant, my weergawe, jou weergawe en dan die waarheid. Ongelukkig is ons samelewing op hierdie stadium van so aard dat iemand aspris die rasse kaart sal speel want hulle weet hulle gaan aandag kry. Ek se nie iemand is skuldig of onskuldig nir maar rassisme word baie maklik misbruik. My two cents worth...

I have checked the video, its so dark, and all I heard was one guy shouting the name Etsebeth. So unless there is someone who has the tech to lighten the video, its really inconclusive.

This could have a very negative impact on the side.
I heard a voice note of what allegedly happened, sounds like something that will get you suspended from the bok side and should be against the code of conduct

Hierdie hele storie verbaas my gladnie. Al waarmee EE goed is op die rugby veld is om ouens rond te ruk en pluk en "death stares" te gee. Sal nooit vergeet daai een super rugby wedstryd wat hy Ruan Ackerman so rondgepluk het. Toe hy klaar is scrum ons hulle moertoe, toe glimlag Ackers Jnr maar net vir hom..
