Ek verstaan nie wat jy probeer se nie Rooihart. Ja die Bulls het 'n klomp ster spelers verloor, maar is hard aan die werk om daarvoor te kompenseer met 'n world cup winning coach en 'n klomp signings. Elkeen van daai spelers wat weg is maak klomp geld vir nuwe speler salarisse vry, so dieselfde geld seker vir die spelers wat ons verloor het. 

Either way. Al wat ek probeer se (of eerder moan) is ek kry net die gevoel die ander 3 unies beweeg vinniger vooruit as ons. Voel eintlik of ons agteruit boer

This has nothing to do with the state of our union. This is not a new thing, and as I have explained to Leeubok, Players tend to go where their support structure is. Gelant is a wp boy. His whole family and most of his friends are from there. He probably wanted to go back, come hell or high water.
Before Akker van der Merwe left for the Sharks, he had an interview with a newspaper, where he told the journalist that he grew up in the Southern Cape, and would love to live close to the sea. I then knew that we were going to lose him. The Sharks offered him a starting spot, and the coastal lifestyle that he desired. I don't think that they offered him more money. This is a thing that has been going on for decades. Way back in the 90's AJ Venter went to the Sharks for the same reason (to live by the sea), and there are loads of players that has done the same. Schalk Brits is another example, so too Joe van Niekerk. 
A former CEO of the Lions used to be a frequent visitor on this site about a decade ago, and he cornfirmed just that: The Lions and the Bulls needed to cough up a lot more money to attract and retain players.


Valie, wat jy se is gladnie verkeerd nie. Natuurlik is dit lekkerder om langs die see te bly. Maar dit is nie die enigste rede waarom spelers nie by die leeus wil teken of bly nie. Ons word netnie gesien as 'n rugby "powerhouse" nie. Waarom kan die Bulls dan ster spelers en coaches teken, en ons nie? Spelers wil deel van 'n wenspan wees, wat hul kanse om 'n bok te word gaan verbeter.
 



Die Bulle het dan net onlangs Visagie/Gelant/Lood/Divan/Pollard/RG/Jesse/Conraad/Libbok etc verloor. Intussen het Bulle nou die 2de EN 4de rykste SA’ners as aandeelhouers en hulle finansiële backers so ek is nie seker wat daar verwag is gaan gebeur.

Dis defnitief makliker om ster spelers te trek en te hou as die span wen momentum het. Almal wil deel wees van n wenkultuur. Wat n groot deel van ons sukses was, is die feit dat ons vanaf 2014 tot 2018 met dieselfde kern groep spelers gespeel het. Ons het spelers, wat meestal nie by ander unies geleenthede gekry het nie, gevat en hulle in n span omskep. Dit se vir my dat om ster spelers te lok, nie noodwendig die enigste roete na sukses is nie. Die trick is om spelers te identifiseer wat goed genoeg is, met die regte temperament, om dit te maak, wat nie geleenthede kry by ander unies nie, en 3 of 4 van hulle te kry, vir dieselfde geld wat 1 ster speler kos, en hulle te ontwikkel in ster spelers.
Ons kry meer as genoeg kwaliteit spelers deur ons junior strukture, die challenge is om hulle genoeg blootstelling te kan gee, (en daarvoor moet jou senior span goed genoeg perform sodat jy rookies kanse kan gee), hulle te behou, en om hulle fiks (beseringsvry) te hou.

Ek stem saam met Valie weer koerant joernaliste wat Lions probeer sleg se. Gelant se hoof rede was dalk nog dat sy familie ook in die Kaap is. Moeg vir joernaliste wat sulke goed skryf al het hulle nie die ware inligting nie. So iets sal nooit van die Bulle, WP of Sharks geskryf word nie! Ek het nog volle vertroue in Straeuli en Allers. Ek stem Valie dis die probleem vir die leeus en die bulle om by die see te bly is 'n groot aantrekking hoor maar hoe baie mense as jy hulle vra as hulle enige plek in sa kon bly waar dit sal wees en meeste gaan se die Kaap.

En oor die Simelane debakel ek dink die leeus het baie in hom bele en hy het nog nie deliver nie ja hulle het hom nie baie kanse gegee nie maar dan ook die kanse wat hy gekry het het hy nie baie goed benut nie, en dis sleg dat mens so houding het ek glo as jy soos in sy geval min kanse kry kan jy baie hard werk en vir die coach wys hy moet jou speel kyk maar vir Skosan 'n baie goeie voorbeeld ek dink hy was baie avarage toe hy begin het maar kyk waar is hy nou deur harde werk ek haat dit as mense net voel als moet in hulle skote val so nee Simelane sit bietjie als in en ek waarborg jou jy sal elke week begin weet nie wat julle manne dink nie maar dis wat ek dink?
